Hello, World
TL;DR: This is where I document the things I build, break, and figure out. Pull up a chair.
If you are reading this, the site works. That is already a win.
My name is John. I am a Sacramento-based IT consultant, homelabber, and chronic pattern-finder. I have been tinkering with technology since I was old enough to break things on purpose — and the learning never really stopped. This site is where I am finally putting that out in the open.
What you will find here
Projects — things I am actively building or have built: homelab infrastructure, self-hosted services, knowledge systems, and the occasional rabbit hole that turned into something real.
Posts — the thinking behind the projects. How I got there, what broke, what I would do differently, and what I am still figuring out. Process over polish.
Stacks and tools — the actual stuff I run and why. If you are building something similar, hopefully something here saves you an afternoon.
Why build in public?
Because I have spent years learning from people who documented their work online, and it is time to give that back. Not everything here will be finished. Not everything will be right. But it will be real — and occasionally useful.
If something clicks, or you want to think through a problem together, the links are in the footer.
More soon.
